The Radeon RX 460 is AMD’s entry-level graphics card for e-sports gamers. Using a Polaris 11 GPU, the RX 460 is capable of playing popular e-sports titles like Rocket League, Dota 2 and Overwatch at 90+ FPS on high quality settings at 1080p. It reaches up to 2.2 teraflops, and has a memory bandwidth of up to 112 Gbps, and either two or 4GB of GDDR5 RAM. The graphics card comes with HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.3 HBR with support for HDR, FreeSync, and support for modern APIs like Vulkan and DirectX 12. AMD claims the RX 460 is 1.2x faster than the GTX 960M in Overwatch, with both GPUs featuring a similar TDP. On the other hand, the 470 is designed for 1080p gaming and video streaming. The RX-470 has a memory bandwidth of up to 211 Gbps over a 4GB of GDDR5 memory interface. The total computational performance lands in an impressive 4.9 teraflops. RX-470 can handle games like Battlefield 4, DOOM, HITMAN, Fallout 4 and Total War: WARHAMMER at Ultra settings with more than 60 frames-per-second, which is the best that any gamer can get. The RX 470 offers between 1.5x and 2.4x the performance in AMD’s collection of benchmarks. While we have no information on pricing of either of these new graphics cards, they are expected to be cheaper than the 480, which starts at $199. AMD says the RX 470 should be available around August 4th, while the RX 460 will go on sale around August 8th.
